Modest nikkah gowns in white, ivory and soft colours, made to your measurements from $499. Full sleeves, a high neckline, a matching hijab with most gowns. These are gowns cut for the hijabi bride, not sharara or lehenga sets, and this page says so up front so you can decide quickly.
If you picture your nikkah in a long modest gown (white or ivory, or a soft blush or gold), this collection was designed for that room: a dignified dress that photographs well, is comfortable to sit in through the ceremony, and can be worn again. If you picture a sharara, garara or lehenga with a dupatta, we do not make those yet. Two honest options: tell us the outfit you have in mind through our custom design request, or look at the colour gowns in our henna night collection, which many South Asian brides wear for the nikkah or the mehndi.
The nikkah is the contract: usually a smaller gathering, often at the masjid or at home, sometimes weeks before the walima. Brides tend to want a dress that is dignified rather than dramatic: fully covered, comfortable, and easy to wear again. A long train and a heavily beaded bodice can feel like too much for a room of fifty people; a gown with a soft skirt, finished cuffs and a matching hijab feels exactly right. Our guide to what a Muslim bride wears covers all the events side by side.
That is what this collection is: the quieter gowns. Rana, Khadija, Fatima, Betul and Beyda were designed for the nikkah and engagement; Almas, Zehra and Nadia are the fuller white gowns for brides who hold the nikkah and reception on the same day.
White and ivory are the most common choices in the US and Canada, and they are most of this collection. But there is no rule. Blush, dusty rose and soft gold are traditional in many South Asian families; some Arab brides wear white for the nikkah and a colour for the henna. If you would like a colour for the nikkah, the henna night collection has the same silhouettes in green, gold, red, navy and pink, and every gown can be discussed in another colour. Ask the bridal concierge.
A marketplace nikkah outfit is sewn to a size chart and shipped from stock. Every gown here is cut to the ten measurements you send, includes custom sizing and a hoop skirt, and most include the matching hijab (most white gowns the veil). That is the difference you are paying for: a dress that fits on the day without a tailor, and that you can wear again for a sister's walima, an Eid dinner or an anniversary. The simplest gowns start at $499; the fuller white gowns that carry a bride through nikkah and reception on one day (Almas, Nadia, Zehra) are $1,750 to $2,100.
It should be. Simple does not mean plain: hand-embellished cuffs, a draped cape, a softly gathered skirt. It means the dress does not compete with the moment.
If your engagement and nikkah are close together, one gown can do both. Rana was designed for exactly that, and Khadija and Fatima follow the same idea: a modest formal gown first, a bridal gown second. Order once, wear twice.
Choose custom measurements or a standard size (XS–XXL), follow the measuring guide, and we sew the gown for you. Express (4–6 weeks) and rush (as fast as 3 weeks) are available if the nikkah date is close. Free standard shipping in the US. We also ship to Canada, Australia, the UK and 15 other countries in Europe; outside the US, any import duties or VAT are paid to the courier on delivery.
