"Long sleeve" and "high neck" don't always mean covered

Search for a long-sleeve wedding dress and most of what comes back is lace sleeves over bare arms and a "high neck" made of illusion tulle: the shape of coverage without the coverage. For a bride who needs the real thing, that's a lot of scrolling for very little.

This collection is the real thing. Each gown has a closed neckline that finishes at the base of the throat, so a hijab meets it cleanly and there is no gap. Sleeves are full length and finished with a cuff. Rana's are gathered into embellished cuffs; Aleena's flare into angel sleeves. Bodices and skirts are lined with opaque fabric, so lace stays decorative and satin stays modest under flash. What you see on the model is what you get, with nothing to add underneath.

• Lace. Amina ($1,900) is lace over soft chiffon, the classic pairing. Eman ($2,100) is floral lace with a garden-inspired pattern that photographs with real depth. Khadija ($850) carries hand-beaded floral embroidery on a high-necked cape gown.
• Satin. Aysha ($1,600) and Maryam ($1,600) are lustrous satin with jeweled detail placed with restraint; Sana ($1,750) is the same idea in deep jewel green.
• Chiffon. Sarah ($1,750) is lightweight chiffon with subtle sparkle, the gown for a long, warm celebration. Rana ($499) and Dua ($799) are flowing chiffon designed for the nikkah and engagement.

Does a high neckline work with a hijab?

It's the only neckline that does properly. A V-neck or sweetheart leaves skin between the hijab and the dress; a boat neck leaves the collarbone. Ten measurements with a soft tape, with the measuring guide walking you through each one with photos, and the gown is sewn for you. Express (4–6 weeks) and rush (from 3 weeks) are available. Standard shipping in the US is free. Because the sleeve length, dress length and wrist are all measured, the sleeves end where they should: at the wrist, not halfway up the forearm.
