Wedding dresses built around the hijab, not in spite of it. Each gown has a high, closed neckline that the hijab tucks into without pins showing, full sleeves, and a fully lined bodice. Most ship with a matching bridal hijab, and most of the white gowns with a veil too, so the whole look arrives in one box.

The neckline is the whole problem

Ask any hijabi bride what went wrong with her dress shopping and it usually comes down to two inches of fabric. A neckline that dips just enough to leave a gap. A back that closes with sheer lace. A collar that fights the hijab so you spend the day re-pinning. Standard bridal gowns are designed to show the neck and shoulders; a hijab wedding dress has to be designed to cover them, and the difference is in the pattern, not the accessories.

Our gowns are cut with a closed neckline that finishes at the base of the throat, so the hijab meets the collar with no skin between them. Backs are lined and closed. Sleeves are full length with finished cuffs. The gown is complete on its own, and the hijab sits on top of it the way it does every other day of your life, just in better fabric.

Hijab and veil, matched to the gown

Most dresses here come with a bridal hijab in the same fabric family and tone as the gown, and most of the white gowns add a matching veil. Look for "complimentary veil and scarf" or "complimentary scarf" on the product page. That solves the problem no boutique solves: finding a white that matches your white. Wear the veil over the hijab for the ceremony, or the hijab alone for the reception. If you have a style you already love, tell us in the order notes and we will match the hijab fabric to it. Our guide to bridal hijab styles shows how each one sits against a high neckline.

Hijab wedding styles: how the scarf sits on a high neckline

The gown decides which hijab wedding styles are open to you. With a closed collar, the scarf never has to do the covering, so it is free to do the styling. These are eight that work over a high collar:

  1. The tucked wrap. The scarf is wrapped close and the ends tucked into the collar. Cleanest line, best under a veil, and the style that makes a high-neck gown look like one piece from crown to hem.
  2. Veil over the hijab. A wrapped hijab with the bridal veil pinned at the crown. This is the classic hijab wedding fashion in most photographs, and it is why most of our white gowns ship with both.
  3. The long shayla, worn as the veil. One long rectangle wrapped once, with the tail left to fall down the back as a veil would. Fewer pins, one fabric, and a softer line for outdoor or daytime nikahs.
  4. Cape instead of veil. The hijab stays simple and the gown's cape does the trailing. The Khadija and the Amal are built for this; see all cape wedding dresses.
  5. Draped chiffon over a satin underscarf. Volume and softness around the face, with the underscarf giving the shape. Suits the satin gowns (Maryam, Aysha) where the fabrics match.
  6. The beaded-edge hijab. A plain wrap with a beaded or lace border that echoes the bodice. Pairs with the jeweled gowns (Husna, Ayah, Noor).
  7. The turban-style wrap. Structured, no loose ends, and striking with a clean gown like the Fatima or the Almas.
  8. Hijab with a headpiece. A crown, comb or floral piece pinned over the wrap. Works with every style above; keep the gown's neckline simple so the two do not compete.

The full guide is in eight bridal hijab styles for your wedding dress.

Do you wear a veil with a hijab?

You can, and most of our brides do for the ceremony. The veil goes over a wrapped hijab and is pinned at the crown, so the hijab does the covering and the veil does the drama. For the reception, most brides take the veil off and keep the hijab, which is why the two are matched to each other and to the gown rather than bought separately. If you would rather not wear a veil at all, a cape gown or a long shayla gives you the same trailing line with nothing to pin.

White hijab wedding dresses: matching your white

A white hijab wedding dress is the hardest thing to buy in pieces, because ivory, off-white, warm white and bright white all photograph differently, and the scarf you order online rarely matches the gown you bought in a shop. Every white gown below ships with the hijab and the veil cut from matching fabric, so the question never comes up:

  • Zehra: a beaded centre panel and a soft chiffon cape. Almas: a beaded bodice over a full, soft skirt, the choice for a mosque nikah.
  • Nadia: full coverage from neckline to hem, refined and unfussy.
  • Noor and Sarah: all-over sparkle in chiffon for evening light.
  • Amina and Eman: lace over chiffon, and floral lace from neck to hem.
  • Maryam and Aysha: satin with jeweled detail at the neckline.
  • Husna and Ayah: jeweled detail with a soft, full skirt.
  • Aleena: angel sleeves and shimmer from shoulder to floor.
  • Shamaal: an embellished high neckline that frames the hijab.
  • Khadija, Betul and Fatima: the $850 to $990 tier, each with a complimentary veil and hijab.

Hijab wedding dresses in colour

The same closed neckline and full sleeves carry through every coloured gown in the collection, so a hijabi bride is not limited to white, and the most embellished gowns are grouped as Arabic wedding dresses. Red for the walima (Zaina, Hafsa, Gul), green (Sana, Izza), gold (Neha, Aniya), navy (Asma, Amal), pink and dusty rose (Zaynab, Amsah), powder blue (Bushra). The coloured gowns ship with a matching hijab where the product page says so; with the darker colours, brides often wear a hijab in the same shade as the gown or in the gown's embroidery colour. Are these wedding dresses hijab-friendly for guests too?

Yes. The simpler gowns in the $499–$1,000 range work as engagement, nikah and formal-guest dresses: flowing, fully covered, and long-sleeved without the bridal train. If you're the bride's sister or a bridesmaid who wears hijab, they're a straightforward answer to "what do I wear that's covered and formal?"

What is included with each gown

Every gown includes custom sizing to your measurements (or a standard size, XS–XXL) and a hoop skirt where the silhouette calls for one. Most include a matching bridal hijab. Most white gowns also include a matching veil; the product page for each gown lists exactly what ships with it, so check there before you order. Nothing is sold as a set you have to assemble afterward.

Custom-fit, without an in-person fitting

Each gown is sewn to the measurements you send: ten measurements and a soft tape, guided step by step on the product page. Standard sizes XS–XXL are also available. Production takes 8–10 weeks (express 4–6, rush from 3), and standard shipping in the US is free. Because the gown is made to your numbers, there's no alteration appointment afterward and no tailor who's never worked with a hijab before.

Two more guides before you order: bridal hijab or veil explains how the two work together and which gowns include both, and where to buy a hijab wedding dress online lists the questions to ask any seller, including us.
